Engineer Intern

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Thorough understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and tools.
- Proficient in computer-assisted design (Civil3D) and Microsoft applications.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be both creative and analytical.
- Organized and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Ability to collaborate and promote healthy team dynamics.
Education and Experience:
- Have obtained or in process of obtaining a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent program.
- Previous internship at a land development firm preferred.
- Engineer Intern certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able travel to and navigate job sites and construction areas. Walking of sites, both developed and undeveloped, is occasionally required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Implement company standards throughout your work. These standards have been established as a framework for success.
- Collaborate with ACRO staff regarding engineering requirements for design of various land development engineering concepts including erosion control, stormwater management, storm drainage, sanitary sewer, potable water distribution, and grading designs included in a comprehensive plan set.
- Research codes and provide site layouts incorporating needs of clients.
- Prepare designs, exhibits, plan sets, and communicate product to clients and reviewing agencies.
- Plan or assist in the development of workflow and project design schedules.
- Manage assigned tasks and workload priorities through personal organization.

Must be highly motived and very organized, with a strong work ethic. Must be a detail-oriented individual who works well in a team environment. Must be capable of working under pressure, multi-tasking and meeting deadlines. This position requires good verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of Microsoft based programs required: Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
- We're looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Licensure as a professional engineer (PE) is preferred but not necessary.
- Must have experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D Design Tools.
